Barack Obama, The first Black president

Barack Hussein Obama II is an American lawyer and politician who was the 44th President of the United States of America and the first African American to hold this position. He had already served in various positions but it was in 1996 that his first political success came when the African American Democratic leader in the Illinois Senate, Obama was elected to the state house by the Democratic Party.
Obama threw himself into the presidency in 2007, announcing it to the public in Springfield that he would seek the Democratic Party's presidential nomination in 2008, and then be elected for the first time after strong competition with Hilary Clinton and serve in January 2009, ushering in a new era for the United States. In 2012 he was re-elected to his post as president for the second time and managed to get around 51% of the votes.
His presidency was characterized by the access to health care for more than 20 million people who previously did not have it, the economic recovery, the legalization of various rights for communities such as the legalization of gay marriage, among many others.
